13 Months since Nikki's abduction

Today marks 13 months since Nikki’s abduction and as I sit preparing for my visit with Nikki in Bulgaria tomorrow, I reflect on what a long way we have come. It has been an extremely long and bumpy road but the end is in sight and I am thrilled at the prospect of building new memories with Nikki. It is great to know that my version of events has been accepted and upheld by two judicial systems on two different continents…..A clear message from both judicial systems that the best interests of the minor child will be protected….Now the time has come for the focus to change, to focus on healing….it is after all in Nikki’s best interests….
“True reconciliation exposes the awfulness, the abuse, the hurt, the truth…because in the end only an honest confrontation with reality can bring real healing. Superficial reconciliation can bring only superficial healing.” – Bishop Desmond Tutu, The Nobel Peace Prize 1984 Winner
